The Credit Bank System is an open educational system which recognizes diverse learning experiences gained not only in-school but also out-of-school. When the learner accumulates the necessary credits, he/she can be awarded a degree from Credit Bank. Credit Bank System, as a central agency for continuing education, aims to provide all citizens with greater access to a variety of educational opportunities and to foster a lifelong learning society.
The Credit Banking System was first carried out in 1998, offering 274 educational courses by 61 educational institutions. In Aug. 1999, 34 students got degrees by this system. So far, a variety of courses have been offered in the 17 specialized fields (96 majors) for the bachelor's degree. As for the associate diploma, courses offered in the 13 fields (101 majors) are available.
At present, the associate in health administration degree by the Credit Banking System is open but the bachelor's degree program isn't still available. The purpose of this study is to develop the Standard curriculum for the bachelor's degree program in the field of health administration. We referred to the curricula of the department of health administration and health management at the 4-year universities to decide the courses.
It is suggested that the curriculum of health administration program for a bachelor's degree includes total 51 courses (153 credits), composed of 9 core courses and 42 elective courses.
