전경린 소설의 여성정체성 찾기의 패턴분석 : 전경린의 중·단편소설을 중심으로 = Pattern Analysis of Femininity Identification - Focusing on the middle and short stories of A Woman Driving a Goat, Angel Stays Here2, Mcdonald Melancholia

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 전경린 소설에서 여성정체성을 다루는 패턴이 있다고 보고, 전경린의 중·단편소설 「염소를 모는 여자」, 「맥도날드 멜랑콜리아」, 「천사는 여기 머문다 2」를 통해 이를 찾아내고 분석하고자 한다. 전경린의 소설에서 패턴은 다음과 같이 세 단계로 나뉜다. 먼저 가부장제 아래에서 사회적, 경제적으로 소외되어 있는 여성이 등장한다. 이들은 가부장제 아래 지속적으로 방치되어 왔음에도 불구하고, 잘못된 것을 감지하고 있는 여성들이다. 다음으로는 집밖에 존재하는 타자들을 통해 여성인물들이 자신의 상황을 각성하게 만드는 단계다. 먼저, 여성인물들이 머물고 있는 ‘집’이 가지고 있는 억압적 의미를 분석하고, 여성인물들을 각성하게 만드는 존재들 역시 가부장제 밖의 존재이며 이들과의 관계를 통한 각성을 이야기한다. 마지막으로 집밖의 타자로 각성된 새로운 삶에 대한 욕구가 여성인물들의 결단과 행동에도 불구하고 좌절하게 되는 ‘구원의 실패’ 단계다. 이는 개인의 노력에도 불구하고 사회가 바뀌지 않을 것이라는 작가의 절망적 인식을 나타내기도 한다. 이러한 반복적인 패턴은 작가가 가진 메시지의 통일성을 보여주나 창의성이 중요한 창작의 영역에서 한계점으로 작용하기도 하며 결국 전경린 작품의 사회적 역할이 약해진 이유 중 하나로도 볼 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper sees a pattern dealing with feminine identity in Jeon Gyonglin s novel, and attempts to find and analyze it through the middle and short novels in the A Woman Driving a Goat , Angel Stays Here2 , Mcdonald Melancholia . In her novel, the pattern is divided into three stages: First, women who are socially and economically alienated under patriarchy appear. These are women who feel something uncomfortable, despite their continued neglect under patriarchy. The next step is to have female characters awaken their situation through others outside the home. Firstly, it analyzes the oppressive meaning of the house in which women s characters reside, and the beings that arouse women s characters are also outside the patriarchal system and talk about their awakening through their relationship with them. Lastly, the desire for a new life awakened as an outside stranger is a “failure for salvation” that frustrates women despite their determination and actions. This shows the artist s desperate perception that society will not change despite personal efforts. This repetitive pattern shows the unity of the artist s message, but it also acts as a limit in the area of creativity where creativity is important and can be seen as one of the reasons why the social role of Jeon Gyonglin s novel has weakened.
