국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간이 자연과 어떻게 관계할 것인가? 이 질문은 인간의 역사 속에서 끊임없이 이어져 온 철학적 입장으로서의 자연관에 대한 것이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 현대에 있어서는 온난화와 기후변화, 에너지 위기, 핵문제와 같은 지구환경의 위기에 대응하는 실천적인 태도에 관한 것이기도 하다.
이러한 자연에 관한 실천적 태도로서의 규범을 환경윤리라고 할 수 있는데, 이는 당연히 생명의 그물로서의 생태계에 대한 이해와 성찰, 자연에 대한 철학적 전제, 그리고 그 속에서의 인간을 이해하는 세계관을 기초로 한다.
미야자키 하야오 감독의 원령공주에서는 인간과 자연의 대립적인 구도 속에서 환경윤리 혹은 생명윤리의 길을 묻고 있다. 이 작품은 이야기 속에 관통하는 자연과 인간의 관계에 대한 성찰과 질문을 통해서, 궁극적으로 그 관계회복에 있어서의 인식론적, 존재론적 주체로서의 인간에 대한 신뢰와 낙관주의를 견지하고 있다. 생명의 윤리는 이 조화와 균형의 지점에 있다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

How should mankind form relation with nature? This has been a continual inquiry about the philosophical standpoint on nature in the human history. In modern times, it is also an inquiry about our practical attitude toward such environmental crises as the global warming, the climate change, the energy crisis and the nuclear issue.
This norm as a practical attitude toward nature can be called environment ethics and, as a matter of course, is based upon the understanding and contemplation about the ecosystem as the life net, the philosophical premise for nature, and the view of the world on which we understand humankind in the ecosystem and nature.
Princess Mononoke directed by Hayao Miyazaki puts a question on the way of environment ethics or bioethics in the conflicting composition between the human and nature. In the film, the contemplation and inquiry about the relation between the human and nature are penetrating through the plot. Through this, the film holds fast to optimism and trust in the human as the epistemological and ontological subject for ultimate recovery of the relation. Bioethics can lie in the harmony and balance.
