The purpose of this study is to evaluate waterfront public functions by using Choice Experiments(CE). Expert interview, focus interview and pilot surveys were implemented for efficiency of experimental design. Five attributes including four waterfront public functions and funding payments are selected to estimate public value of waterfront in Korea. Attributes are the natural view, the water quality, the utility of river place, the ecosystem environment, and funding payment. 469 citizen lived in Iksan-si were selected using stratified sampling methods, and surveyed by face-to-face interviews. Implicit prices of the attributive levels have been calculated into monetary value per household. The results showed that most preferable waterfront public functions were the water quality, the utility of river place, and the ecosystem environments. Results of this study could used as useful quantitative information related to sustain waterfront management in Korea.
