The purpose of this study is to re-examine the historical value of the Jindo Byeokpajin, which has been regarded only as the background of the Battle of Myeongnyang, and to suggest practical measures to preserve and utilize it as a national heritage. To this end, the independent meaning of the Battle of Byeokpajin during the Imjin War was reviewed, and cases of using related relics in Jeollanam-do were analyzed. In addition, the historical and cultural values were comprehensively reviewed through diagnosis of the current status of the Byeokpajin ruins. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that Byeokpajin was an important Stay in formation of the Samdosugun and had its own strategic value as a battlefield where a separate naval battle took place that enabled the victory of the Battle of Myeongnyang. In particular, the So-Seungja-tong, etc. are important relics that prove this. Based on these values, this study proposed the designation of monuments in Jeollanam-do of the Jindo Byeokpajinjeoljeolji, promotion of the Ichungmugong Byeokpajinjeolbi to Jeollanam-do Tangible Cultural Heritage, and the creation of a Byeokpajin historical park and the development of storytelling contents under the theme of Strategy and Victory. This study is significant in that it publicized the importance of Byeokpajin ruins and laid the foundation for contributing to historical education and regional revitalization.
