The purpose of this study is to explore the perception of AI and digital-based lessons among teachers, who are the main operators of the lessons, for effective operation of AI and digital-based lessons in elementary education. To achieve the research objectives, 12 elementary school teachers from six regions (Seoul, Busan, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Daegu, and Gwangju) were selected to conduct focus group interviews, and the results of the study were derived based on the thematic analysis method. As a result of the study, a total of four areas were identified: definition of lessons, digital competency, learning materials and environment, and political support, with nine subcategories and 18 details. Based on the findings of this study, the necessary factors for effective operation of AI-digital-based classes are suggested in terms of personal and policy aspects.
