Korea is one of the most biggest countries in consumption of fishes. Such consumption pattern is possible with high interest in healthy life and incresed income. According to food balance of sheet, fish consumtion per day per persom has been increased from 100.6g in 2000 to 150.34g in 2012 by 49%. This study on the trend of consumption in fishery market makes us investigate the consumption pattern and consumption structure of mackerel anf hairtail. When we investigate the mackerel consumption, it is affected by income and its price. The result shows that income is an important factor to decide consumption of mackerel while the consumption is very sensitive to the price. On the other hand, the result of investigation into the consumption of hairtail shows that income and price are important factors to decide consumption of hairtail and further that the consumption is very sensitive to the price, thus being a vertical demand curve. The limitation of this study is that we have investigated the consumption structure of a part of main fishes, not all fishes. To investigate the consumption structure more precisely, we should include various types of fish in the model. Such analysis in the consumption structure is left in the future research.
