The purpose of this study was to investigate Consumer Transactional Competency of college students according to the socio-demographics variables and to analyse any differences in accordance with the general characteristics of the respondents. Furthermore, to evaluate and analyze the influential parameters on the consumer skill of the Consumer Transactional Competency. The subject of this study were 399 university students in Daegu-Gyeoungbuk Province. A questionnaire was used as the survey method. The dada was analyzed by Cronbach’α, frequences, %, mean, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe test, multiple linear regressions. Computations were conducted by SPSS WIN Program. the study produced the following results: First, Consumer knowledge and consumer attitudes, consumer skill showed each average score 3.24 points, 3.45 points, and 3.23 point. Second, in the case of Humanities and Social Sciences Department students were scored higher than Natural Science Department Students in Consumer knowledge. Examining the differences in consumer attitudes was the most significant in mother’s education level and the average monthly household income. Examining the difference in the consumer skill was found higher in the information usage in the case of male gender. Third, Examining the impact of the variables on the consumer skill showed there is a positive influence of consumer education of the society. Consumption value had a positive influence consumer skill. These results imply that consumers should be differently educated depending on the consumer characteristics.
