칸트 미학의 정치철학적 함의― 아렌트적 해석을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

베버에 의하면, 칸트는 세 비판서를 통해 과학(이론철학), 도덕(실천철학), 예술(미학)이라는 세 영역이 완전히 다른 원리에 기초하는 자율적 영역임을 천명하였고, 이러한 칸트의 철학은 근대성이 어떤 의미에서 우리 삶을 파편화시켰는가를 드러내는 철학으로 평가된다. 하지만 한나 아렌트는 칸트의 미학에서 실천철학의 함축을 읽어내고, 그것을 토대로 자신의 독특한 정치철학을 펼친다. 칸트 미학에 등장하는 무관심성, 취미, 천재 등의 개념과 그 개념의 특징들은 모두 정치적 이해관계, 정치대중, 정치지도자의 알레고리로 번안된다. 이러한 번안을 통해 재구성되는 칸트 미학, 즉 아렌트의 정치철학은 정치의 심미화라는 때로 부정적 뉘앙스를 갖는 용어로 평가되기도 한다. 하지만 그녀가 궁극적으로 내세우고자 하는 입장은 공통감에 기초한 다원주의가 아닌가 한다. 공통감에 기초한 다원주의를 통해 그녀가 해결하고자 하는 바는 두 가지이다. 하나는 루돌프 아이히만이 보여준 바와 같이 사고력의 결여로 인한 홀로코스트 재현을 방지하는 것이고, 다른 하나는 다원주의의 실현으로 전체주의적인 폭력을 근원적으로 배제하자는 것이다. 이 논문은 이러한 아렌트가 칸트에 어떻게 의존하고 있는가를 밝힘으로써 칸트 미학의 정치철학적 함의를 숙고해보고자 하는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

On M. Weber, Kant elucidates that science(theoretical philosophy), ethic(practical philosophy) and art(aesthetics) are the autonomic regions based on the perfectly different principles. So, M. Weber appreciates that Kant reveals at the philosophical aspect on what meaning the modernity have made our life fragmentize. On the contrary Hannah Arendt extracts practical philosophical implications from the kant's aesthetics and then evolves her own unique political philosophy on the basis of them. The conceptions and the characters of them such as uninterest, taste, genius etc dealt with Kant' aesthetics are interpreted to political interest-relations, people who are concerned with politic and political leader. Kant' aesthetics reconstructed with this interpretation, i.e., Arendt's political philosophy is often aprreciated negatively because she alters the aesthetics to politics. But the ultimate thesis insisted by her is pluralism based on the common sense and this is the main topic of political philosophy. She thinks that she can solve at least two problems, if we considerate the politcal philosophy or political problems on the horizon of aesthetical thought, especially Kant' aesthetics. First, she expects that the aesthetical thought can give the base of prevention against such like the Holocaust. Second, she recognizes the abuse of totalitarianism very well and she thinks that the only pluralism based on the aesthetical thought can eliminate the abuse. This essay purposes the consideration of Arendt's political philosophy through the clarification how Arendt depends on Kant' aesthetics.
