장기 거주 베트남 결혼이민자의 한국어 발음 습득 : 언어 입력의 영향에 관한 질적 연구 = Korean Pronunciation Acquisition of Long-Term Vietnamese Marriage Immigrants Women: A Qualitative Study on the Impact of Language Input

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장기 거주 베트남 출신 결혼이민자들의 한국어 발음 습득 경험을 탐구하고, 이들의 원어민 수준에 가까운 발음 습득 과정에서 언어 입력의 영향을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한국에서 10년 이상 거주한 베트남 출신 결혼이민자 5명을 대상으로 질적 내러티브 연구 방법을 적용하여 심층 인터뷰를 진행했다. 연구 결과, 참여자들의 성공적인 발음 습득 과정에는 원어민 수준의 발음 습득 목표 설정, 다양한환경에서의 풍부한 언어 입력, 체계적인 학습 전략 활용, 적극적인 사회적 상호작용, 그리고 직업 경험 등이 복합적으로 작용한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 가정, 직장, 미디어, 교육 기관 등 다양한 환경에서의 질 높은 언어 입력과 실제적 의사소통 경험이 원어민에가까운 발음 습득에 중요한 역할을 한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 성인 이주민의 제2언어 발음 교육에 있어 장기적이고 체계적인 발음 교육의 필요성, 질높은 언어 입력과 실제적인 의사소통 기회 제공의 중요성, 자기주도적 학습 지원, 직업환경을 활용한 교육 방안 모색, 장기 거주 이주민을 위한 고급 언어 교육 프로그램 개발등을 제언했다. 본 연구는 장기 거주 베트남 출신 결혼이민자들의 원어민 수준 발음 습득 경험을 심층적으로 탐구함으로써, 성인 이주민의 제2언어 발음 습득에 대한 이해를 넓히고 효과적인 언어 교육 방안 수립에 기여했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study examines the impact of language input on the acquisition of native-like Korean pronunciation among long-term Vietnamese marriage immigrants. A qualitative narrative approach was employed in the form of in-depth interviews with five Vietnamese immigrants who have resided in Korea for a period exceeding ten years. The findings suggest that the attainment of native-like pronunciation is the result of a complex interplay between various factors, including ambitious goal-setting, exposure to diverse linguistic environments, systematic learning strategies, active social engagement, and professional experiences. The study found that high-quality language input and authentic communication across various domains were crucial in developing advanced pronunciation skills.
The study proposes pedagogical implications for adult immigrant language education, including long-term systematic instruction, provision of quality input, promotion of learner autonomy, and development of tailored advanced programs. This research contributes to understanding adult immigrants’ L2 pronunciation acquisition and offers insights for enhancing language education policies and practices.
