저소득층 노인이 지각한 건강상태와 우울 및 일상생활수행능력 간의 관계

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라 전체 인구 중 65세 이상 인구가 차지하는 비율은
2000년에 7.2%로‘고령화 사회’에 들어선 후, 2005년 9.1%
를 차지하고 있다. 향후 2018년에는 이 비율이 14.3%가 되어
‘고령화 사회’로 진입하고, 2026년에는 20.8%가 되어‘초고
령 사회’에 도달할 것으로 전망되며 현재의 고령화추세가 지
속될 경우, 한국은 2050년경 노인 인구 비율이 세계 최고 수
준에 이를 것으로 전망된다(Korea National Statistical Office
[KNSO], 2005).
이와 같은 노인인구의 증가는 노화와 더불어 발생하는 질병
이나 기능부족으로 인해 타인에게 의존해야 하는 노인의 절대
수가 증가하며, 이로 인해 발생되는 여러 가지 문제는 사회가
해결해야 하는 중요한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 노화로 인해 나
타나는 두드러진 변화로는 지적능력 및 감각기능의 감퇴, 감
정반응의 둔화, 인격 변화, 우울의 증가 등을 들 수 있으며 이
중에서도 특히 연령증가에 따른 우울경향은 노년기의 일반적
인 현상으로 점차 증가하는 추세에 있다.
