One of potential technology trends in this era is the Building Information Modeling (BIM), and it shows tremendous impacts on AEC/FM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Facility Management) industry today. BIM is the process of generating, managing, updating, and evaluating a building information model in the lifecycle of the building in the information technology perspective. Several BIM-based projects have been conducted by European and U.S. governments. This paper reviews case studies how BIM is applied to evaluate building designs focusing on the technical aspects for checking clear width rules in terms of the universal design approach.
