To evaluate the recent clinical aspect of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, we analysed 146 patients who were admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Yonsei University College )f Medicine due to Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia from January 1986 to December 1993. Subjeets were divided into two groups : Group I consisted of 719 patients during the period of 1986 to 1992. Group II consisted of 227 patients in the year of 1993. The results were as follows 1) Annual distribution showed increased incidence in 1993 and peak incidence was noticed n every 3 year. Seasonal distribution revealed that Group I was evenly distributed and Group :I had high incidence in autumn and winter. 2) Age distribution showed high incidence in the age of 4 to 7 years. This was not significantly iifferent between both groups. Male to female ratio was not significantly different between )oth groups. 3) Cough was the most common chief complaint in both group and sputum, rhinorrhea, sore ,hroat, headache, abdominal pain and malaise were common symptoms. 4) Leukocyte counts in peripheral blood were less than 10,000/mm in most of the cases. Lhis was not significantly different in both groups. 5) Pulmonary infiltration was mostly noted in right lower lung field on chest x-ray. 6) Complication were hepatic dysfunction, pleural effusion, asthma and skin rash in Group and acute gastroenteritis, asthma, hepatic dysfunction and pleural effusion in Group II. In conclusion, incidence was increased in 1993, but clinical aspects were not significantly different in both groups,
