This study put its purpose in researching the correlation between female university students’ motivation for participating higher education and, the quality of life and their satisfaction in lifelong study. In order that, a survey was conducted targeting 232 female university students. The survey consisted of totally 47 questions. 5 questions asking demographic factors, 6 questions asking motivation for higher education, 16 questions asking satisfaction in lifelong study, 20 questions asking of quality of life.
Through SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) 20.0, analysis of frequency, reliability analysis(Cronbach's α), one-way analysis of variance(One-way ANOVA), and multiple regression analysis were conducted for processing the data in this study.
The summary of the result of analysis is as follows.
First, according to the demographic factors, there was an overall perception that motivation for higher education it has meaningful influence. Self-fulfillment was the highest, joy of learning, preparations for elder life, improving academic ability, acquiring national license, and social activities followed.
Second, after researching the relationship between the motivation for participating higher education and satisfaction in study, it is appeared that motivations such as joy of learning, preparations for elder life, social activities and self-fulfillment have influences on the satisfaction in study. As a result, the higher the motivation for participating higher education(joy of learning, preparations for elder life, social activities and self-fulfillment), the higher will be the satisfaction in study.
Third, after researching the relationship between the motivation for participating higher education and the quality of life, it is appeared that joy of learning and self-fulfillment have influences on the quality of life. As a result, the higher the joy of learning and self-fulfillment, the higher will be the quality of life.
This study implies that it is needed to encourage the motivation for participating higher education to enhance the satisfaction in lifelong study and the quality of life. Also the study shows that it is needed to search plans to actively utilize the factors that can raise the satisfaction in lifelong study and the quality of life, and revise the defects. Therefore it is considered that a program with differentiated intervention in accordance with female university students’ characteristics should be developed. Besides, this study suggests undertone for follow-up studies and proposals.
