      The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of propolis administration on ratings of perceived exertion, exercise time and electrolyte metabolism of normally students. The subject in this study were 14 normally students, who were divided into two groups. During the administration period, one group took propolis for 2 weeks(1000㎎/day) and the other was the placebo group(empty capsules). The subjects performed exhaustive exercise on a treadmill. The ratings of perceived exertion(RPE) measured using of Brog & Noble 15 scale. The blood in electrolytes factor(sodium, chloride and potassium) was analyzed with DT 60Ⅱ Kodak, U. S. A). Plasma was sampled from an antecubital vein using a hypodermic syringe at rest, post-exercise(all-out), recovery 10 and 30min after incremental maximal exercise. The results was as follows. The ratings of perceived exertion were significantly decreased by propolis(2, 3, 5 stage: p<.05). The exercise time were increased by propolis but not significantly. The blood in electrolytes were significantly differenced by propolis(Na+: Recovery 30 min: p<.05, Cl-: Rest, Recovery 10, 30 min: p<.05, K+: Recovery 10, 30 min: p<.05). In conclusion, the endurance ability and electrolyte showed affirmatively influenced by administration of propolis as compared to placebo group
