한국판 정신적 웰빙척도의 요인구조: 대학생을 대상으로 = The Factor Structure of the Korean version of the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF): A Study of University Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was aimed to test the fit of the bi-factor models of the Korean version of the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) in Korean university students. To investigate the optimal factor structures of MHC-SF, 3,001 university students in Gyeongbuk area participated in the study. We analyzed 7 factor models including bi-factor models which have been suggested or derived in previous studies. The results showed that the bi-factor model showed the best fit in comparison with the 1, 2, and 3 factor structures. It was found that the bi-factor model comprised of 3 specific factors – emotional well-being, psychological well-beling, social well-being– and 1 general factor (only including the items of psychological and social well-being subscales) - eudaimonia - demonstrated the best fit to the data. All other models did not satisfy the goodness-of-fit. Our results were inconsistent with those reported in other countries, suggesting that the factor structure of MHC-SF may be different for Korean college students and that caution is needed in using the total score of MHC-SF.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 대학생을 대상으로 한국판 정신적 웰빙척도의 이중요인모형의 적합도를 검증하는 것이다. 대학생 3,001명을 대상으로 정신적 웰빙척도의 최적의 요인구조를 탐색하기 위해 이중요인모형을 포함해 선행연구들에서 제안되거나 도출되었던 7가지 대안모형에 대해 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 국외 연구결과와 유사하게 1, 2, 3요인구조에 비해 이중요인모형의 적합도가 가장 우수하게 나타났다. 14개 문항으로 구성된 정신적 웰빙척도의 문항들은 정신적 웰빙을 평가하는 3개 소척도인 정서적 웰빙, 사회적 웰빙, 심리적 웰빙 요인에 각각 수렴되는 동시에, 사회적 웰빙과 심리적 웰빙 관련 문항들은 ‘유대모니아’라는 일반요인에도 수렴되었다. 이는 국외에서 보고된 이중요인모형과는 다른 것으로, 정신적 웰빙척도의 요인구조가 우리나라 대학생에게서 다르게 나타날 수 있으며 정신적 웰빙척도의 총점을 활용함에 있어 주의가 필요함을 시사한다.
