대입 실패 경험을 한 대학생들의 외상 후 성장에 관한 합의적 질적 연구 = A Consensual Qualitative Research on the Posttraumatic Growth among the University Students Who Experienced College Entrance Failure

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대입 실패 경험을 한 대학생들의 외상 후 성장 경험을 합의적 질적 연구 방법을 통해 탐색하였다. 대입 실패를 외상 사건으로 경험하고, 이후 성장을 이루었다고 보고한 대학생 13명을 대상으로 관련 경험을 탐색하였다. 분석 결과 4개의 영역, 9개의 하위영역, 40개의 범주가 도출되었다. ‘대입 실패 당시의 경험’ 영역의 하위영역으로 ‘내적 경험’, ‘주변 사람의 반응’이, ‘대입 실패 인식 요인’의 하위영역으로 ‘개인적 측면에서의 실패 인식 요인’, ‘관계․맥락적 측면에서의 실패 인식 요인’이, ‘대입 실패 후 성장 요인’ 영역의 하위영역으로 ‘개인적 측면에서의 성장 요인’, ‘관계․맥락적 측면에서의 성장 요인’이, 그리고 ‘대입 실패 후 성장의 결과’ 영역의 하위영역으로 ‘자신에 대한 인식의 변화’, ‘인생철학의 변화’, ‘관계의 변화’가 도출되었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대입 실패 경험을 한 대학생들의 성장을 돕기 위한 시사점을 논의하고, 본 연구의 한계와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

This study used the Consensual Qualitative Research method to explore posttraumatic growth of college students who experienced college entrance failure. A semi-structured interview was conducted with 13 college students who experienced college entrance failure as a traumatic event and reported they achieved growth. 4 domains, 9 sub domains and 40 categories were derived. The ‘experience of college entrance failure’ domain included ‘internal experience’ and ‘response of people around me’ as the subdomains. The subdomains of the ‘factors for recognizing failure after college entrance failure’ were ‘individual factors for recognizing failure’ and ‘factors for recognizing failure in relation and context’. The ‘factors for growth after college entrance failure’ domain included ‘individual factors for growth’ and ‘factors for growth in relation and context’ as the subdomains. The subdomains of the ‘growth after college entrance failure’ were ‘changes in self-awareness’, ‘changes in life philosophy’ and ‘changes in relationships’. Based on the study results, implications for helping the growth of college students who experienced entrance failure were discussed, and the study limitations and follow-up studies were suggested.
