중학생의 성취지향목표가 강점인식에 미치는 영향 : 사회적 지지의 매개효과 = The Effects of Middle School Students’ Achievement-Oriented Goal on Strengths Knowledge : The Mediating Effect of Social Support

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 외재적이고 경쟁적 특성의 성취지향목표 추구가 중학생들의 강점인식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 여기에 사회적 지지가 매개효과로써 어떠한 작용을 하는지 검증하고자 하였다.
목표는 개인의 정서와 행동을 이끄는데, 특히 생애목표는 개인의 성장단계에서 접하는 사회ㆍ문화적 환경 속에서 수립되어 삶 전반을 이끌게 된다. 생애목표는 그 내용에 따라 가정화목, 인간관계, 여가 등을 통해 삶의 안녕감을 높이고자하는 삶지향목표와 부, 명예, 자기성장 등의 성취를 통해 성공을 이루고자 하는 성취지향목표로 구분할 수 있으며, 이러한 두 목표가 적절히 균형을 이루며 발달하였을 때 삶의 만족도와 행복감이 높아지게 된다. 대체로 선행연구에서는 내재적 성향의 삶지향목표를 생애목표 성취에 있어 긍정적으로 보고하지만, 타인시선에 민감하고 경쟁적인 교육환경 속에 살아가고 있는 청소년들의 삶은 매우 외재적이며 성쥐지향적인 경향성이 두드러지게 나타날 수밖에 없는 것이 현실이다. 그러므로 이를 마냥 외면하기보다는 실패가 가져오는 부정적 결과에 대해 더 많은 관심을 보이는 성취지향목표의 순기능적 특성을 잘 살려 강점인식을 높여주는 것은 현교육제도의 문제점에 대한 대안적 방안이 될 것이라 보았다. 또한 그 과정에서 사회적 지지가 개입 되여 긍정적인 관계형성과 더불어 다양한 정서ㆍ정보ㆍ물질ㆍ평가적 지지가 이루어진다면 그 효과가 더욱 높아지리라 보는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다.
이를 위해 성취지향목표 척도, 사회적 지지 척도, 강점인식 척도를 측정도구로 사용하여 D지역 2개 중학교 1～3학년 청소년을 연구대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 최종분석에 사용된 총 140부의 자료로 SPSS 20.0을 통한 적률상관분석 및 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 내용이 검증되었다.
첫째, 해당 연구의 주요 변인들인 성취지향목표, 사회적 지지, 강점인식 간에는 유의한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 중학생의 성취지향목표가 강점인식에 미치는 영향에 대해 직접적으로 유의미한 상관관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 중학생의 성취지향목표가 강점인식에 미치는 영향에 있어 사회적 지지의 매개효과는 유의미한 영향을 미치는데, 사회적 지지가 높을수록 성취지향목표가 강점인식에 미치는 영향 또한 크게 나타났다.
본 연구의 결과, 중학생들이 바람직한 성취지향목표 추구를 통해 스스로의 강점을 제대로 인식하고 긍정적인 사회적 지지를 제공받음으로써 현실에서 당면하는 실수나 실패 상황을 더욱 탄력적으로 대처할 수 있을 것이라고 본다. 또한 이를 위해 다양한 프로그램의 개발과 교육적 개입이 이루어진다면, 삶지향목표를 더 우위에 두는 형식적 교육 풍토에 대한 실질적이고 현실적 방안으로써 효과적인 대안이 될 수 있음을 본 연구는 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to find out how the pursuit of achievement-oriented goals of external and competitive characteristics affects the recognition of strengths of middle school students and to verify how social support works as a medium effect.
The goal leads to individual emotions and behavior, especially the goal of life is established in the social and cultural environment encountered in the growth phase of the individual, leading to the overall life. Life goals can be divided into life-oriented goals that aim to enhance the sense of well-being in life through domestic harmony, human relations and leisure, and achievement-oriented goals that aim to achieve success through the achievement of wealth, honor, self-growth, etc. In accordance with their contents, life satisfaction and happiness can be increased when these two goals are properly balanced. In general, prior research reports an intrinsic life-oriented goal positively in achieving a lifetime goal, but the reality is that adolescents who live in a competitive educational environment that is sensitive to other people's eyes are very foreign and have a very adult-oriented tendency. Therefore, rather than turning a blind eye to the negative consequences of failure, we thought that it would be an alternative solution to the problem of the current education system to enhance awareness of its strengths by taking advantage of the net functional characteristics of the achievement-oriented goal. In addition, the purpose of this study is to think that social support will be more effective if positive relationships are formed and various emotional, information, material, and evaluation support are achieved.
To this end, the achievement-oriented target scale, social support scale, and strength recognition scale were used as measurement tools to survey young students in 2 middle schools in D-area. In addition, the following information was verified by moment correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis copies through SPS 20.0 with a total of 140 copies of the data used in the final analysis.
First, it has been shown that there is a significant static relationship between achievement-oriented goals, social support, and strength recognition, the main contributors to the study.
Second, it has been shown that middle school students' achievement-oriented goals have a directly significant correlation with the effect on strength recognition.
Third, the mediated effect of social support on the effect of middle school students' achievement-oriented goals on strength recognition has a significant effect, and the higher social support, the greater the impact of achievement-oriented goals on strength recognition has also been shown.
As a result of this study, middle school students will be able to better recognize their strengths and provide positive social support through the pursuit of desirable achievement-oriented goals, thus dealing with the mistakes or failures faced in the real world more flexibly. In addition, if the development of various programs and educational interventions are made to this end, this study suggests that it could be an effective alternative as a practical and realistic measure of the formal education climate, which places life-oriented goals above them.
