제1클레멘트서의 해석학 이해 = Understanding of Hermeneutics in 1 Clement

국문 초록 (Abstract)

제1 클레멘트서는 초대교회의 구약성서 인용과 사용을 파악하는데 있어서 매우 중요한 작품이다. 제1 클레멘트서는 구약을 해석함에 있어서 철저하게 문자적 해석을 견지하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있고, 구약 성서에 기반한 내용을 교리화하고 의례화하며 송영화 하여, 사용하고 있음도 알 수 있다. 이러한 제1클레멘트서의 구약해석과 인용 방식을 통해서 독자들은 초대교회가 구약성서와 유대적 전통을 어떻게 이해하고 평가하고 수용했는지를 알 수 있다. 즉, 제1클레멘트서를 통해서 알 수 있는 것으로, 예수 그리스도의 생생한 음성을 담고 있는 것으로 구약을 이해하고 해석한 제1클레멘트서를 통해서, 초대교회의 다양한 신학적 흐름 속에 구약성경을 높이 평가했으며 적극적으로 수용했던 하나의 신학적 흐름이 분명히 존재했다는 것을 알 수 있다.
특히, 동시대의 바나바 서신과는 대배되는 구약해석을 보여주고 있는 데, 바나바 서신이 보여주는 알레고리적 해석에 반하여 제1클레멘트서는 철저하게 문자적 해석에 경도되어 있음을 할 수 있다. 구약에 대한 문자적 해석을 강하게 보여 줌으로써, 제1클레멘트서는 구약과 신약의 강한 연대성과 신약의 교회에서도 구약은 여전히 하나님의 말씀으로서 굳건한 위치를 차지하고 있음을 보여준다. 더 나아서, 제1클레멘트서는 유대교 전통에 기원된 테스티모니아를 사용함으로써 구약성서 밖의 유대교 전통도 강하게 수용하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 초대교회가 구약의 유대전통을 어떻게 평가하고 수용했는지를 보여주는 좋은 증례가 되는 초대교회 신앙작품이다.

For the early church, it is a very important task to form a proper relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament, decide on the degree of accepting the Old Testament, and decide on hermeneutics of the Old Testament. Among many writings, 1 Clement in the early Church s hows the i ntimacy b etween t he Old T es tament and t he New Testament. Beyond this, 1 Clement boldly suggests that the vivid voice of Jesus Christ resounded in the Old Testament.
1 Clement proposed the literal interpretation as the proper hermeneutics of Christianity for the Old Testament. While the reader can find a typological and allegorical interpretation in 1 Clement, we cannot deny that the overall hermeneutic of the Old Testament of 1 Clement can be called a literal interpretation. The literal interpretation of 1 Clement was strongly supported by the use of introductory formulae, the use of testimonia, and the use of Sanctus and doxology based on the Old Testament.
While the allegorical interpretation of the OT in Barnabas tends to ignore the canonical value of the OT and the historical succession between the OT and the NT, the literal interpretation of 1 Clement shows the strong theological connection between the OT and the NT, the eulogy for the OT in the early Christian Church, and the practice of the Jewish tradition outside the OT.
