The mainly objectives of this study was a instability characteristics in a lean premixed gas turbine dump combustor. Dynamic pressure was located at combustor and inlet section to determine combustion pressure oscillation and pressure difference each location. Inlet air was preheated to 400 ℃. The flow velocity at mixing nozzle was 40 to 70 m/s and equivalent ratio was 0.6 to 1.2. The combustor length was varied for different acoustic characteristics to 800 ~ 1100 ㎜. So we observed two dominant instability frequencies. Lower frequencies were obtained at lower equivalence ratio and it was associated with a fundamental longitudinal mode of combustor length. Higher frequencies were observed in higher equivalence ratio conditions. It was related to secondary longitudinal mode. Also fluctuation of inlet air was associated these instability mechanism.
