소녀성과 육체의 미디어화 = 모바일 커뮤니케이션 역사의 자기성찰적 해석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 소녀가 자신에게 주어진 사회역사적 환경에서 실천한 재귀적 말하기의 방식과 성찰적 글쓰기의 의미를 탐구한다. 실천의 방식으로 몸을 매개로 하는 체화에서부터 첨단 인터넷을 중심으로 하는 디지털 미디어에 이르기까지, 각 역사적 단계에서 소녀가 친화적으로 취해 온 매체들을 통해 사회적 미디어로서 소녀의 몸이 자기 재현된 방식을 분석한다.
소녀의 재귀적 말하기에 대한 이 연구는, 첫째 오늘날 급속하게 성장하고 있는 소녀의 디지털 모바일 커뮤니케이션 문화를 소녀 말하기의 역사 안에 맥락화하고, 둘째, 연구자가 해독하는 대상으로서 소녀의 성찰적 글쓰기를 취하여 연구자와 연구대상 간의 평등한 담론 관계를 지향하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 연구의 방법론으로서 소녀의 자기 담론의 관점에서 사회와 역사를 비평하는 소녀 이야기들을 해석한다.
한국의 소녀 이야기들은 공적인 역사에 담기지 못한 역사를 안고 있다. 소녀들은 망각과 은폐를 꿰뚫어 사회의 현실과 상상을 채집, 저장, 체화한다. 미디어는 맥루한이 단언했듯이 육체를 바깥으로 확장하는 것에 그치지 않는다. 이러한 팽창적인 남성 담론과 달리, 소녀의 육체는 몸의 감각기관과 신경줄, 근육을 통해 세상을 읽어내려 기억하고 이야기한다. 이런 점에서 소녀는 우리 사회의 모바일 미디어이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper starts with casting a question on girl discourse and digital mobile technoculture in the context of postmodern, post-capitalist society. The feminization of digital culture has become prevalent, leading to the change in young women's attitude to patriarchal capitalist society, which has been presumed in feminist thinking. We have often observed in media discourse that nowadays girls and young women have acquired more or less an equal position with boys and men, and furthermore, she even appears to be more privileged than he in terms of academic achievement, promotion in business, and sophisticated urban lifestyle and in the field of popular culture.
Drawing upon the problem of the positioning of feminist studies in the contemporary new liberal society and feminization of global popular culture, the current research argues for paying attention to girls' self-reflexive narration. And it is suggested that we critically rethink the discursive articulation of girls' bodies with mobility in the context of the dominant media environment of digital mobility.
I suggest that 'mobile girls' as such is the embodiment of a historical narration of the social. The girls' bodies ate the medium of socio-historical narratives of reality and fantasies. Whereas McLuhan sees the media as the one that extends the human body towards the external world, in my argument, a girl's body as such being the media of the social, internalizes and embodies the world.
