This paper provides an integrated review of recent advances in power cable diagnostic technologies essential for the reliability and efficient asset management of future power grids. It systematically covers the operational principles and field applications of major non-destructive diagnostic methods such as partial discharge, tan delta, and reflectometry. Particular focus is placed on the latest developments in real-time live diagnostics and AI-based signal processing technologies, including LIRA, TFDR, and SFWR.
