의사결정 활동을 중심으로 한 STS ( 과학-기술-사회 ) 수업 프로그램이 학생들의 문제해결 능력에 미치는 효과 = Research Articles : The Effects of STS ( Science - Technology - Society ) Instructional Programs centered on Decision making Activities for the Students' Problem Solving Abilities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 의사결정 활동을 중심으로 하는 STS수업이 학생의 문제해결력 향상에 미치는 효과를 분석한 것이다. 이를 위해 서울소재 일반 고등학교 2학년 남·여 학생 3학급을 표집 대상으로 하였다. 실험 집단, 한 학급은 의사결정 활동을 중심으로 하는 STS수업 프로그램을, 통제 집단의 한 학급은 교사활동 중심의 전통적 수업을, 나머지 다른 통제 집단 중 한 학급은 의사결정 활동 이외의 STS수업 전략을 실시하였다. 실험 집단의 수업은 문제인식, 대안탐색, 대안 평가, 결정의 4단계로 이루어지는 의사결정을 활동의 순서에 따라 구성하였다. 의사결정 활동 이외의 STS 수업전략을 사용한 통제집단은 조사, 토론, 역할놀이의 전략을 사용하였으며, 전통적 수업집단은 교사 활동 중심의 강의를 실시하였다. 수업 다원은 '생식'과 '생명공학'이었으며 8차시의 수업을 실시하였다. 처치 후 '개념 이해 및 적용', '가치판단 및 분석', '대안생성 및 통합'의 3대 영역으로 구성된 문제해결력 검사를 실시하였다. 검사의 형식은 논술 및 서술형이었으며 11개 문항으로 구성하였다. 분석 결과 의사결정 활동을 중심으로 하는 실험 집단의 성취수준이 두 통제집단의 성취수준보다 높았다. '개념 이해 및 적용'의 행동 영역에서는 차이가 없었으나 '가치 판단 및 분석', '대안 생성 및 통합' 의 행동 영역에서 높았으며, 또한 각 영역을 합한 전체수준에서도 높게 나타났다(p＜01)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was performed to analyze effects of STS (Science-Technology-Society) programs centered on decision making activities for the students' problem solving abilities. Three classes (n=120) were selected from general high school in seoul, and the subjects were second grade students. The STS classes centered on decision making activities consisted of 4 phases, "perception of problems", "searching for alternatives", "evaluation of alternatives" and "decision" were administered for treatment group. Another STS classes were administered for one of the control group by using non decision-making instructional strategies such as "survey", "discussion", "role playing". The traditional classes centered on teacher activities, the other of control group, were administered. The learning contents were selected from unit of "reproduction" and "bioengineering", and total 8 classes were administered during treatment period. After intervention, the test of problem solving consisted of three behavioral domains ("understanding and application of concept", "making value judgement and analysis", "generating alternatives and integration") and total 11 items of essay format was implemented. In results of analysis, problem solving ability of the treatment group was higher than 2 control groups, totally. The scores of treatment group were higher in domain of 'making value judgement and analysis', and 'generating alternatives and integration', but not higher in 'understanding and application of concept' than two control groups(p<.01).
