This study analyzes the effects of career and employment programs of four-year universities in Seoul and local universities on employment. Through research, we propose to improve career and employment programs that help graduates from universities in Seoul and local universities find employment. The research method used the 2017-2020 College Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) to target 55,906 people (13,553 in 2017, 14,216 in 2018, 14,124 in 2019, and 14,013 in 2020) among four-year university graduates. Data from 2017 to 2020 were used to stably confirm the effect of the career and employment program of four-year universities on employment. The criteria for college graduates of the National Statistical Office were applied to the employed, and career and employment programs were divided into career setting programs, employment competency programs, and information provision programs. The research results are as follows. First, participation in the career setting program had a negative effect on employment at universities in Seoul and local universities. Second, participation in the employment competency program had a positive effect on employment at universities in Seoul and local universities. Third, participation in the information provision program had a positive effect on employment at universities in Seoul, but had no effect on employment at local universities. As a result of the study, it seems that improvement is needed so that the universitys career setting program can have a positive effect on employment. And local universities should review the appropriateness of the information provision program and reorganize the program with a new perspective.
