루마니아 주거 문화와 민족적 특성 = Residerntial Culture and National Chartacteristics of Romania

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 루마니아의 지리적인 환경과 주거 문화 그리고 루마니아 민족성에 대한 상호 관계 및 영향을 살펴보고 있다 우선 자연 환경이 농민의 가옥 형태 및 교회의 건축에 미친 영향에서는， 가옥의 구조 및 재료 등을 서술하고 있고 특히 담이나 문， 그리고 여기에 장식된 문양 등에 대해서 논하며 그 민족적 특정을 서술하고 있다. 그리고 루마니아의 건축의 특정을 서유럽의 건축 양식과 비교하연서 루마니아의 민족적 특징을 논하고 있다. 똑같은 자연 환경 속에서 루마니아인과 작센인이 트란실바니아에 함께 거주했는데， 작센인은 고딕 양식으로 매우 높은 건물을 돌로 지은 반면에， 마니아 양치기들은 작은 집을 목재로 지었다. 작센인의 집들은 밖에서 들여다볼 수 없도록 큰 대문을 갖고 서로 서로 붙어 있다. 작센인의 이 건축은 시간에 저항하도록 규정되어 있다는 것이고 미래에 대한 감정에서 생성되었다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 작센인의 마을에는 적으로부터 침입을 받았을 때， 주민들이 피신할 수 있는 요새 같은 교회들이 있다. 이와 비슷한 상황에서 루마나아인은 자신들의 집들과 교회들이 불에 타고 폐허가 된다는 것을 알면서 숲으로 유랑의 길을 떠났다. 작센인의 건축은 최종적이고 동시에 영원하다는 표시 하에서 지어진 반면에， 루마니아인의 건축은 임시적이라고 하는, 그러나 역설적으로 영원(永遠)이 된다는 생각으로 지어진 것이다. 루마니아 마을의 유형학적 분류에서 보면 농촌의 집들은 쇠사슬의 고리처럼 얽혀있지 않고， 집들은 단순한 공간이든 정원과 과수원의 푸른 간격이든 서로 떨어져있다. 루마니아인의 지형을 변화시키거나 강요하지 않고 사물의 흐름을 결코 변화시키려하지 않는 데에서 자연에 대한 순응성을 보여준다. 루마니아인의 자연에 대한 순응성은 죽음에서도 나타난다. 농민들은 결코 죽음을 두려워하지 않았으며， 십자가는 영원한 안식으로 들어가는 입구이다. 죽음은 모든 자연 재해처럼 받아들여지는 것이다. 또한 더 나아가 그들은 낙관주의적인 생각을 갖고 있다. 이러한 죽음 관을 잘 나타내주는 장소가 ’행복한 묘지”이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to examine the residential culture and national characteristics of Romania by studying the residential areas of Transylvania throughout history. Transylvania can clearly and explicitly show the differences between Romanian and Saxon residences since they both reside together here. Saxons. for example , have always constructed larger buildings whereas the Romanian shepherds have usually built small. wooden structures. When the Saxons first established their villages in Transylvania , it was difficult to see the inside of their houses from the outside because big gates were erected and the buildings were connected. Saxons often spoke about putting forth their human power through a collective energy Villages developed by Romanians were organically designed to be in harmony with nature , and their houses gave viewers the impression of being eternal. But the villages built by Saxons were the expressions of a collective and rational community as is exemplified in the famous quotation by Blaga, A compulsive command is carved on their foreheads Buildings that were built from stone by the Saxons were designed to withstand the passage of time and endured well into the future Furthermore. there were also churches that gave village people a place of refuge and helped to defend villages from enemies. On the other hand. very often in the past , Romanians were forced to take refuge in the forests which lead to a homeless existence as they watched their houses and churches being burned down. In retrospect , the houses of Romanians were built with the thought that they were both vulnerable and temporary. while those of the Saxons were initially built with the thought that they were automatically permanent and eternal. Even today. the distances between Romanian houses are great and are located on mountain ridges. These mountain houses are not connected like rings on a chain but are separated by space. gardens or green orchards. Romanian' s adaption to nature can be seen in their efforts to embrace rather than defy the configuration of the ground and the harmonic flow of natural forces. Thus , narrow paths in the mountain villages exist as they always were and Romanian farmers never carve out short-cuts or roads by force. even if it means that they would have to go around certain obstacles. Instead, they live simply and in harmony with nature
