Thie study was an attempt to survey, the relationships between asult women's values and preference of dress shoes design in buying dress shoes.
For the measurement of values scale was to relect the theoretical, economic, aesthetic, social, political and religious values explained by Allport-Vernon.
The considered attribute in buying dress shoes considerd of design, utility, merchandise and contains 11factors separately.
The questionnaire were asministered to a sample of asult women(who are over 20 years old and lives in Seoul, Kyong-gi province, Korea)
For the preference rate of dress shoes design, design factors were classified by style, color, qualit, ornament and contain 17 factors separately.
The data for 304 respondents were analyzed by x²-test, Pearson product-moment, frequency distribution, ANOVA.
Through this study, the following were found ;
1. Aesthetic value was the most important of adult women values and religious value was the least important of asult women values, political, religious values were contrary to each other.
2. Inthe study between values and the consideration rate for the attribute of dress shoes, there were partially significant relations in all vales.
In the attribute of design, a group which theoretical values are low and a group which aesthetic values are high considerd the style and the ornament, a group which social values are high considered the color in buying dress shoes.
In the attribute of utility, a group which aesthetic values are low considered the comfort and lightness in buying dress shoes than a group which aesthetic values are hihg did.
In the attribute of merchandise, in cluding harmony with trend, price, bramd a group which theoretical, economical values are low and aesthetic value are high considered the harmony with clothing, trend in buying dress shoes and a grop which aesthetic values are low and religious value are high considered the price, a group which political values are high considered the brand.
3. In the study between values and the preference rate for dress shoes design, there were significant relations between all values except for political and the factor of dress shoes design.
Especially, according to aesthetic values and social values, there was the difference for the preference in cluding color, quality, ornament in design factor.
That was an important factor in the preference for dress shoes design.
In the study for preference rate between high group and low group, there weren't the significant difference in style but all groups prefferd style over normal.
In color preference, a group which economical values are low preferred white color and brilliant color more than a group which economical values are low did. And a group which aesthetic, religious values are high preferred white color and brilliant color more than a group which aesthetic values are high preferred black color and a group which social values are high preferred brown color.
In quality preference, a group which social values are low preferred swade more than a group which social values are high did. And a group which economical values are high preferred leather more than a group which economical values are low did. And a group which political values are high preferred patterned material more than a group which political values are low did.
In ornament preference, all groups preferred dress shoes without are ornament according to the kind of ornament, there were the significant difference among aesthetic values and social, political, that is, a group which aesthetic values are high and a group which social values are low preferred the ornament of trimming ornament more than a group which aesthetic, political values are low and a group which social values are high did. Also, a group which aesthetic values are high preferred ribbon ornament more than aesthetic values are low did.
