골목 탐방 콘텐츠‘창신앨리’분석 - 케빈 린치의 『좋은 도시 형태론』을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 점차 사라져 가고 있는 도시 골목의 가치를 살펴봄으로써 궁극적 으로 지역과 상생할 수 있는 골목 탐방 콘텐츠의 영역 확장을 위한 방안을 모 색했다. 연구대상은 종로구 창신동의 지역자원을 발굴해 문화와 예술 체험 및 답사 프로그램으로 개발한 골목 탐방 콘텐츠 ‘창신앨리’다. 연구방법은 케빈 린치의 좋은 도시 형태론의 ‘활력, 감각, 적합, 접근, 통제’라는 5가지 실행 척도다. 연구결과는 첫째, 창신앨리의 전체 프로그램을 지지하는 주요 척도는 ‘활력’이다. 창신앨리는 골목길의 고유성을 살린 체험 및 참여 프로그램을 통해 골목과 참여자 모두에게 활력을 부여했다. 둘째, 공감각적 체험을 중심으 로 한 프로그램으로 장소의 독자성을 강화하며 ‘감각’ 척도를 구현했다. 셋 째, 창신앨리의 차별성을 가장 높인 실행척도는‘접근’이다. 세대 간 접근과 소통을 가능하게 하고 정보 접근성을 높인 것이 주된 성공 요인이었다. 넷째, 추후 지역 예술가와의 연계를 통한 지역공동체와 조화를 모색하기 위해 향후 ‘통제’척도를 지역사회 기여의 척도로 활용해야 할 것이다. 다섯째, ‘적 합’척도는 창신동의 지형적 한계와 편의시설 부족으로 인해 상관성이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타나 개선이 요구된다. 골목 탐방 콘텐츠는 다양성과 접근성을 통해 골목의 정체성을 강화하고, 주민과 참여자가 모두 골목의 주인임을 인식 하도록 골목과 전체 프로그램이 유기적으로 조화를 이루어야 한다. 본 연구가 후속 프로그램 개발과 실행에서 유의미한 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to explore the value of urban alleys that are gradually disappearing and seeks ways to expand the scope of alley exploration content that can coexist with the local community. The research focuses on ‘Changsin Alley’, an alley exploration content developed as a cultural and artistic experience and field trip program by utilizing local resources in Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu. The research methodology employs Kevin Lynch's Five Dimensions of Good City Form Theory: vitality, sense, fit, access, and control. The findings are as follows: First, the primary dimension supporting the overall program of Changshin Alley is ‘vitality’. Changshin Alley revitalizes both the alleys and participants through unique experiential and participatory programs. Second, programs emphasizing multisensory experiences enhanced the distinctiveness of the location, effectively fulfilling the‘sense’dimension. Third, the dimension that most enhanced the distinctiveness of Changsin Alley is ‘access’. It successfully promotes intergenerational communication and enhances information accessibility. Fourth, to further promote harmony with the local community through collaborations with regional artists, the‘control’dimension should be utilized as a dimension of community contribution. Fifth, the ‘fit’ dimension showed the lowest correlation due to the geographical limitations and lack of amenities in Changsin-dong, highlighting areas for improvement. For effective alley exploration content development, it is essential to reinforce the identity of the alleys through diversity and accessibility. The program must foster organic harmony between the alleys and the overall activities to encourage shared ownership among both residents and participants. This study aims to provide valuable insights for developing and implementing future alley exploration programs.
