교육 수요 변화를 반영한 대학 기독교교양교과 개편 방향 탐구 = Exploring the direction of Colleges’ Christian liberal arts curriculum redesign based on changes in educational demand

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 빠른 변화와 불확실성을 특징으로 하는 미래사회에 유연하게 대처할 수 있는 인재를 키우기 위해 현행 교육이 어떤 모습으로 변화해야 하는지 연구가 활발한데, 이러한 현상은 대학교육의 기초교육과정으로서 중요성이 커지고 있는 교양교육에 있어서도 관찰된다. 이러한 흐름에 맞춰 기독교대학에서 필수교양으로 운영하는 채플과 기독교과목의 개편 방향을 탐구하였다.
기독교대학의 기초필수교양으로 편성된 채플과 기독교과목의 운영 현황을 전국 102개 기독교대학 대상 실태 및 인식조사 결과를 분석하여 제시하였다. 아울러 개별 교과 또는 교재 개편 사례와 운영단과 차원의 개편 사례, 필수교양체계 개편을 위한 교육요구도 분석 사례를 통해 대학의 개편 동향을 탐지하였다. 다음 근래 들어 대학 교양교육 운영에서 주요하게 다뤄지는 핵심역량에 비추어 기독교교양교과를 통해 길러져야 할 핵심역량을 고찰하였다.
이 과정에서 기독교교양교과 운영에 대한 전문성 제고, 역량습득 강화, 학생들의 삶, 전공 및 진로문제와 밀접한 주제 선정, 교과 내용의 이해와 정의적 태도 변화의 균형적 접근 필요성을 파악하였다. 이러한 교육요구를 중심으로 학제 간 숙의 과정에서 충분히 논의하여 개편 방향과 수준을 구체화할 것을 제언하였다. 아울러 변화하는 교육 수요를 반영해 필수교양체계를 개편하고 기독교교양교과 표준화 모델을 개발한 대학에서 개편의 효과가 실제 수업으로 이어지도록 교수자가 표준화 모델을 가지고 자신의 수업을 재구조화하는 교수설계 및 역량기반 수업 운영방법을 습득할 수 있는 교수훈련이 동반되어야 함을 강조하였다.
그 어느 때와 비교해 다변화하는 사회를 이끌어갈 미래핵심역량을 갖춘 인재양성을 목표로 유수의 대학들이 교양교육 특성화 작업에 박차를 가하고 있지만, 기독교대학의 정체성과 인재상을 반영한 교양교육 특성화 논의는 여타 일반대학과 비교해 상대적으로 미흡하다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 기독교대학의 특화된 교양교과 개발을 위해서 다양한 전공 교수 간 협업적 작업 환경, 학내 신앙과 학문의 융합적 연구를 장려하고 지원하는 분위기가 조성되어야 함을 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently, there has been active research on how current education should change in order to develop the core competencies of colleges students who can cope with a future society characterized by rapid change and uncertainty. This phenomenon is also observed in liberal arts education, which is growing in importance as a basic curriculum in colleges. In line with this trend, this research explored the direction of curriculum redesign toward chapel and Christian subjects, which are included in required liberal arts course of most Christian colleges.
First, the current operation status of chapel and Christian subjects was presented by the results of a survey on the situation and perception of 102 Christian colleges across the country. In second, redesigning trends of chapel and Christian subjects were detected through cases of revising individual subjects and textbooks, and case of restructuring operating system in the level of ministry department. In third, case of analyzing educational demands for reorganizing liberal arts curriculum system in a Christian college were reviewed.
The core competencies, which are mainly dealt with liberal arts education in post-Corona era, are analyzed in order to perceive how to be cultivated in Christian liberal arts subjects. In this process, several significant educational demands for curriculum redesign were identified, including enhancing faculty’s expertise in strengthening core competency acquisition, selecting topics closely related to students' lives, majors, and career issues, and performing a balanced approach of understanding subject contents and changing affective attitudes as well. It was suggested that the direction of curriculum resign should be sufficiently discussed with these educational demands in an interdisciplinary deliberation process.
Although a few of Christian colleges have previously reorganized the liberal arts curriculum with respect to these educational demands, then provided a standardized model for Christian liberal arts subject, there are still request to translate those effects of course redesign into actual classes. For this reason, it was emphasized that teaching training to acquire the instructional class design skills for restructuring competency-based classes should be accompanied. In conclusion, it was suggested that collaborative work environment and convergent research atmosphere between faith and academics should be supported in order to develop specialized Christian liberal arts course.
