This study investigates the effect of the digital service trade restrictiveness index(DSTRI) on imports in Korea’s main fruits exporting market, which is a Southeast Asian country. This is because if the imports of these countries have increased with a reduction in DSTRI, this result can contribute to the development of policy issues in Korea. This study utilizes a multilevel model based on OECD DSTRI data for the analysis. This is because the effect of the DSTRI on fruit import on those areas might differ according to the destination country. Our results show that the import of fruits Southeast Asian countries from Korea has increased with the reduction of DSTRI. Our results imply that a reduction in DSTRI is expected to contribute to fresh food exports in Korea in these regions.
