헝가리 구비문학의 산문 장르 연구 = A study on Hungarian prose folklore; with special reference to folktale (népmese) and legend (monda)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

헝가리 구비문학의 산문 장르 분류에서 대두되는 용어 및 분류 기준 그리고 민담 장르의
하위 분류에 대한 조사가 먼저 행해졌으며, 이를 바탕으로 하여 헝가리의 구비 산문 중에서
가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 “민담”과 “전설”의 차이점과 각각의 특징을 기술하였다. 헝가
리 민담의 민족적 고유 특징이나 성격에 관한 조사도 행해졌으며, 민담의 모티브에 나타나
고 있는 비유럽적 -아시아적- 모티브는 물론 여러 유럽의 제민족들의 민담에도 나타나는
모티브 역시 고려하였으며, 민담 내의 하위 장르들이 차지하고 있는 분포 비율도 밝혀 종합
적인 측면에서의 헝가리 민담의 특징과 성격을 규명하였다. 이러한 모티브와 분포 또 기원
역사를 포괄하여 행한 조사 방식은 헝가리 구전 전설에도 동일하게 적용하여 연구되었다.
이 결과 민담과 전설로 크게 대변되는 헝가리 구전 산문 장르의 특징으로 무엇보다도 민
족의 오랜 역사와 문화 발전 과정에서 다양한 문화권, 여러 상이한 종족들로부터 흡수하여
축적 반영한 결과인 다양성과 풍요로움을 들 수 있다. 헝가리 민담과 전설 속에 나타나고
있는 샤마니즘 요소와 모티브도 이 문화적 종족적 접촉과 영향의 결과를 분명하게 증명해주
는 것이며, 또 다른 특징으로는 서유럽의 민담들이 경직되어 고착된 구성을 가지고 있는 것
과는 달리 특히 헝가리의 민담에는 여러 모티브들이 계속적으로 서로 연결되고 혼합되어 수
많은 변형을 지니고 있다는 점이다. 헝가리 민담에 있어 많은 중간적 유형 및 장르가 존재
하고, 여러 다양한 모티브들이 혼합되어 나타나는 구전 문학 자료들이 많이 있다는 사실은
이와 같은 특징의 산물이라고 볼 수 있다. 이 점 역시 헝가리 구비 산문 장르가 전래되어온
자료의 단순 수치상에서 뿐 아니라 그 내용, 형식 그리고 모티브의 측면에서도 다양성과 풍
요로움을 갖고 있는 특징을 잘 반증하는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aims of this paper is to research into the Hungarian prose folklore; with special
reference to folktale (Hu; népmese) and legend (Hu; monda). Also the terminological and
classifying problems of Hungarian folklore and legend are taken into consideration. The
another aim of this paper was to make clear the national character of Hungarian oral
prose.
Although it is very difficult to make clear their own unique characters which is
discriminated with other european oral literature, the unique national character of
Hungarian prose folklore can be concluded in the distinctive feature of its distributional
variety of folktale and legend and of their sub-genre. When we consider these facts -
the variety and richness of its motive and theme of the Hungarian prose folklore-, we
could comprehend the characteristics of Hungarian prose folklore and oral literature.
The speciality and character of Hungarian prose folklore is defined by historical
experience which contains the exodus of Hungarian peoples from Ural to Carpathian
basin and the 'settlement' in Europe. By these facts, I would like to prescribe the
Hungarian prose folklore and oral literature as a result of the contacts of various culture
and interaction of various peoples.
