The purpose of this study is to verify whether Strong Kids, a social and emotional learning program, is effective in supporting children's social and emotional competence and peers. The Strong Kids program to be applied in this study was reconstructed with elements of social emotional skills acquisition such as conflict resolution and consideration, anger control, and stress relaxation method through analysis and planning, design, preliminary research, and final program composition process. Forty-two fourth graders were divided into experimental and control groups, and the experimental group conducted a Strong Kids program twice a week for six weeks, and the control group conducted a working day activity. Before and after the program, we conducted an examination of social and emotional competence and peer support and analyzed the covariate (ANCOVA). The study found that firstly, the social and emotional learning program Strong Kids has been effective in improving the social skills, emotional control and self-respect of elementary school students, but not in empathy. Second, the social and emotional learning program Strong Kids has been effective in supporting problem solving for elementary school students, supporting classroom activities, sharing activities and sentiments, yielding and reconciling, community consciousness and receptive communication. These results showed that the core skills and consideration of social emotional by Strong Kids, a social and emotional learning program that was reorganized in this study, have positive effects on the social and emotional competence and peer support of elementary school students. It is also meaningful in providing program data that can be used during creative experience sessions in schools by suggesting solutions to problems that students can effectively cope with in various conflict situations.
