국가교육과정기준 문서 체제 개선방안 = An exploration on improvement of National Curriculum Standards documental system

The National Curriculum Standards Documents presents or establishes not only the national curriculum standards and the platforms, but also improves the effectiveness of education by elevating the curricular professionalism, autonomy, and accountability of the teachers who are the last executives of the education. However, the said documents have been developed only for the use of developers and managers. Thus, most Korean teachers neither read nor use them. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to explore the ways for the improvement of the National Curriculum Standards Documents so that Korean teachers can read and use them easily. The results of this study are as follows: In the first place, this study analyzes the structural system of national curriculum standards documents. Secondly, this study establishes the important traits of the good national curriculum standards documents. Thirdly, this study reviews the present situation and problems of Korea`s National Curriculum Standards Documents. Lastly, this study explores the ways of improvement of a manual of national curriculum standards documents and the guidelines for the composition and management of Metropolitan and Provincial Educational Authorities, and National Curriculum Standards Documents. The conclusion of this study is that Korea`s National Curriculum Standards Documents must reduces the volume and kinds of national curriculum standards documents, and must develop the system of documents that all teachers can read and use them easily for enhancing their professionalism, autonomy, and accountability of the curriculum literacy. These results of this study will be of great use in developing the system of 2009 National Curriculum Standards Documents.
