『삼보회』육바라밀설화와 본생도 = A Study on the Six Pāramitās jātaka Pictures of "Sanbo-e"

本考察は『三宝絵』上巻の六波羅蜜説話関連の内、外部的検討を通して、残念ながらも今は散失して見ることのできない六波羅蜜説話に伴っていた絵の姿の一端をそれなりに推定してみたものである。 検討してみた結果、『三宝絵』六波羅蜜各本生図ごとに核心キーワードと主な場面をそれぞれ3つずつ推定することができた。また本生図の形式としては、単純に核心的な一場面だけを描いた可能性よりは、数幅の連続的に表現された体系的な構成を持つ絵巻物形式のようであった可能性が最も高いと推定された。 『三宝絵』六波羅蜜説話の集成はおおむね『大智度論』と天台の伝統に基づいて行われたものであって、その六波羅蜜と各本生菩薩の結合は必ずしも『三宝絵』だけの独自の方式ではなかった。しかし、その六波羅蜜本生図の場合は、現在伝えられている本生図の図解状況等を合わせて勘案してみるとき、その当時としては非常に画期的な試みであっただろうと考えられる。もしそれが今に伝えられていたならば、おそらく今の日本の国宝『絵因果經』以上の価値を持つとても貴重なものとして認められていただろうと思われる。

This study is based on an external examination of the Six Pāramitās(六波羅蜜) Jātaka Pictures(本生圖) in the first volume of Sanbo-e(三宝絵), which is unfortunately part of a picture accompanying the Six Pāramitās Jātaka Pictures that cannot be seen because it is now scattered.
As a result of the review, we were able to estimate three keywords and three main scenes of the six-wave honey map of Sanbo-e. In addition, it could be estimated that the form of this set of pictures was most likely a scroll with several continuously expressed systematic structures rather than simply depicting only one core scene.
The collection of "Sambo-e" The Six Pāramitās jātaka Pictures was generally based on the tradition of Dazhidulun(Mahāprajñāpāramitā Śāstra) and the Tendai (天台) school, and the combination of the Six Pāramitās Jātaka Pictures and each Jātaka Bodhisattva(菩薩) was not necessarily a unique method of Sanbo-e. However, considering the current illustration of the six-wave honey map, it seems that it was a very innovative attempt at that time. If it had remained until now, it would probably be recognized as something more valuable than the present-day Japanese national treasure, E-inga-kyo(絵因果経).
