색변화 효과를 활용한 안리아레이지 패션디자인 특성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 혁신적, 개념적 디자인으로 세계적인 명성을 얻기 시작한 쿠니히코 모리나가의 안리아레이지컬렉션 중 색변화를 수반하는 디자인의 표현 방법을 분석하여 디자인의 특성을 고찰해 보고자 했다. 안리아레이지 웹사이트와 쇼 동영상을 통해 수집된 전체 25개 컬렉션 중 ‘Bone’, ‘Color’, ‘Shadow’, ‘Light’, ‘Reflect’ 를 주제로 개최된 5개 컬렉션을 연구대상으로 선별하였다. 안리아레이지의 작품세계와 색변화 요인에 관한문헌연구 및 사례연구를 토대로 해당 컬렉션에 활용된 색변화 원리 빛 표현방법을 분석한 후, 색변화 효과를활용한 안리아레이지 패션디자인의 특성을 도출하였다. 안리아레이지 디자인의 색변화 효과는 자외선에서즉각적으로 색을 드러내는 발광성 소재, 자외선과 반응하여 서서히 색변화를 일으키는 포토크로믹 소재, 입사된 각도에 따라 그대로 빛을 반사하되 색도 함께 표현되는 재귀반사컬러 소재를 보다 진보된 방식으로텍스타일에 접목한 결과였다. 색변화 효과를 활용한 안리아레이지 패션디자인의 특성은 다음의 세 가지로요약되었다. 첫째, 기대하지 못한 방식에서의 색의 생성과 소멸, 이에 따른 일시적인 형태나 문양의 변화처럼상식을 넘어선 작업을 통한 의외성은 즐거운 시각적 경험을 제공함으로써 디자인의 유희적 특성을 강조하였다. 둘째, 첨단기술을 적용하기 보다는 타 제품 디자인 영역에서 사용되는 친숙한 기술에 새로운 사용성을부여하여 텍스타일 테크놀로지로 전환하고, 스마트폰 등 일상의 도구를 디자인에 접목시키는 과정을 통한기술 사용에서의 신규성이 강조되었다. 셋째, 현실에 기반을 둔 웨어러블한 의복에 상식을 깨뜨리는 일시적인 색변화를 통해 심리적 혼돈감을 제공함으로써 일상의 환경을 배경으로 하여 일상과 비일상, 현실과 비현실, 실재와 가상의 경계가 모호해지는 낯선 환상적 감정을 야기하는 특성이 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As Anrealage, a Japanese fashion brand launched by Kunihiko Morinaga, began to gain a worldwide recognition with its innovative and conceptual design, this study tried to discover the characteristics of Anrealage fashion design which especially adapted color-changing effects. Five collections titled ‘Bone', ‘Color', ‘Shadow', ‘Light', and ‘Reflect' were selected for this study through the review of Anrealage’s web-site and collection video files. Five collections and their designs respectively were analyzed to examine the expressional features and technique of the color-changing effect based on the literature review and case analysis. Anrealage’s color-changing effects were the result of injection of those materials into textile technology such as luminescent materials that instantly generate colors under UV light; photochromic materials that show slow color change under UV light; and retro-reflective color materials that reflect light and color directly. The characteristics of Anrealage’s fashion design that adapts the color-changing effect were summarized as follows. First, the feature of pleasurable visual experience was emphasized by the unexpectedness evoked through the appearance and disappearance of color and by the unconventional design process of spectators’ participation for color change with their smart-phone flashlight. Second, novelty of usage in technology was regarded more important than high technology itself as it can be seen in the collection that adapts familiar technology such as photochromic materials for sunglasses or that involves smart-phones regarded as ordinary tool in everyday life into final design presentation stage. Third, fantasy in everyday was regarded as one of the main characteristics of Anrealage design because distorted color evokes ambivalent feelings between the seen and unseen and the moment of color change proposes a little fantastic ambience blurring the boundary between the real, unreal or virtual even in ordinary space.
