장애인에 대한 대학생의 태도 관련 변인 간 관계 분석 = A Study on the Relation of Variables Related to University Students' Attitude toward Disabled People

The purposes of this study were to develop an attitude toward disability scale for college students and to explore its applicability. The subjects were 292 college students, and the variables include indirect experiences with the disabled and the degree of encounter with them in addition to the demographic background variables of the college students. Their attitude toward the disabled was analyzed in the domain of marriage with the disabled, vocational rehabilitation, financial support, communication support, and living with the disabled.
The research findings led to the following conclusions; first, the research tool was verified for its validity and reliability. In an attempt to test the tool's validity, exploratory factor analysis was conducted, and 20 items of five factors were identified. Using Cronbach's α, its reliability was examined. The overall reliability coefficient was .792, which means it's relatively a reliable tool. Secondly, the female college students were more positive towards the disabled than their male counterparts. Those who majored in special education showed a more positive attitude toward them than the students with other majors. The subjects had a negative attitude toward marriage and living with the disabled among the subareas of attitude toward the disabled. But their attitudes were positive toward vocational rehabilitation and financial support for the disabled. Especially they displayed a very positive attitude toward communication support for the disabled.
And finally, the subjects' attitude toward living with the disabled can be explained in terms of degree of encounter, frequency of contact, and vocational rehabilitation and doesn't have consistent correlations with the other variables.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장애인에 대한 대학생들의 태도 척도의 개발 및 적용가능성을 알아보기 위한 것으로 대학생 292명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구 변인으로는 대학생들의 인구 통계학적 배경 변인과 장애인에 대한 간접 경험과 직접 경험 정도이며, 장애인에 대한 대학생의 태도는 장애인의 결혼, 장애인의 직업재활, 재정지원, 통신지원, 장애인과의 생활에 대하여 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과에 기초한 결론을 살펴보면 먼저 연구 도구의 타당도와 신뢰도가 검증되었다. 연구도구의 타당도는 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였으며 5개 요인의 20개 문항을 추출하였다. 신뢰도는 Cronbach's α를 활용하였으며 전체 신뢰도 계수는 .792로 비교적 신뢰로운 도구였다.
둘째, 장애인에 대한 대학생의 태도는 대체적으로 남학생에 비하여 여학생이 긍정적이며, 특수교육관련학과 재학생이 다른 전공 학생에 비해 긍정적 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 장애인에 대한 태도의 하위 영역에서는 장애인의 결혼 그리고 장애인과의 생활에 대하여도 부정적 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 장애인의 직업 재활, 재정지원 등에 대하여는 긍정적 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 특히 장애인에 대한 통신 지원은 매우 긍정적인 것으로 인식하고 있었다.
셋째, 장애인과의 생활에 대한 태도는 직접 경험 정도와 접촉 빈도 그리고 직업 재활에 대한 태도에 의해 설명될 수 있으며, 기타 변인들과는 일관된 상관을 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
