대학생의 시간관이 진로동기에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Time Perspective on Career Motivation in University Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 시간관이 진로동기에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 구체적으로는 시간관의 요인인 과거 긍정, 과거부정, 현재숙명, 현재쾌락, 미래지향적 시간관이 진로동기에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 살펴보았다.
이를 위해 시간관은 한국형 Zimbardo 시간관 척도(Korean ZTPI)로 측정하였고 진로동기는 자기결정성 이론에 따라 자율성, 유능성, 관계 성을 하위요인으로 개념화하고 진로 성취목표, 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로관련 사회적지지를 측정하였다. 연구를 위해 대전의 W 대학교에 재학 중인 학생 292명의 설문자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 자료분석은 Windows SPSS 21.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 신뢰도, 단계적 중다회귀분석, 표준 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
연구결과를 요약하면, 미래지향, 현재쾌락, 과거긍정적 시간관이 진로동기에 정적인 영향을 미치고 현재숙명적 시간관은 진로동기에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 진로동기에 미치는 시간관 하위요 인의 상대적 영향력은 미래지향(β=.30) > 현재숙명(β=-.29) > 현재쾌 락(β=.25) > 과거긍정(β=.22) 순으로 미래지향적 시간관이 진로동기에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구의 의의는 진로동기에 있어 시간관의 영향을 확인함으로써 진로동기와 시간관에 대한 이해를 넓히고 시간관을 통해 진로교육이나 진로상담에 있어 개입하는 방법의 기초를 제공하였다는 데에 있다.
본 연구의 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 진로동기에 대한 정서적 요소의 영향을 세부적으로 연구할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 시간관의 연구는 전체를 같이 보는 균형 잡힌 시간관의 관점이 타당하다. 셋째, 시간관에 영향을 미치는 변인들에 대한 관심과 종단적 연구가 필요하다. 넷째, 시간관을 향상시킬 수 있는 상담기법이나 시간관의 개념을 활용한 진로상담에 대한 연구와 적용이 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of time perspective on career motivation in university students. The specific objective was to investigate the relative effects of time perspective factors(past-positive, past-negative, present-fatalistic, present-hedonistic, future-oriented) on career motivation. Time perspective was measured using Korean Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory. In order to measure career motivation consists of autonomy, competence, relatedness on a self-determination theory(SDT), this study measured achievement goal, career decision making self-efficacy, career-related social support. For analyzing data collected from 292 university students, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability, stepwise multiple regression analysis, standard multiple regression analysis were carried out using Windows SPSS 21.0 statistical program.
The findings of this study were as follows. Future-oriented,
present-hedonistic, past-positive time perspective had positive effect and present-fatalistic time perspective had negative effect on career motivation. The relative effects of time perspective factors in the order of future-oriented(β=.30), present-fatalistic(β=-.29), present-hedonistic (β=.25), past-positive(β=.22) were large. Therefore, future-oriented time perspective had the largest effect on career motivation among time perspective factors.
The results of this study had the following significance. By identifying effects of time perspective on career motivation, understanding of career motivation and time perspective has been widened and foundation of career counseling intervention and career education has been provided.
The suggestions of this study are as follows. First, there is a necessity of detailed research on effects of emotional factor on career motivation.
Second, BTP(Balanced Time Perspective) is appropriate to research time perspective. Third, there are necessities of longitudinal research and concern to factors that effect time perspective. Fourth, There are necessities of counseling skills and techniques improving time perspective, research and practice of career counseling applying time perspective.
