국문 초록 (Abstract)

1400년이 넘는 기간의 기독교와 이슬람의 공존 기간은 수많은 악연과 비극을 만들어 왔음이 사실이다. 그러한 상호 호전적인 관계 속에서도 시대마다 이슬람 영혼들을 구원하기 위해 자신을 제단 위의 제물로 내드린선교사들이 있었다. 본 연구는 이슬람 선교 역사 속에서 뛰어난 공헌을 했다고 판단되는 세 명의 선교사를 소개하고 그들의 신학과 방법론을 살펴보는 연구이다.
첫 번째 선교사는 세13기의 레이몬드 룰(Raymond Lull, 1232-1316)이다. 룰은 선교사이자 동시에 철학자, 시인, 소설가이었으며, 4000여 종류의 책과 문서를 남긴 사람이었다. 그는 시대에 앞선 사람이었으며, 그리스도를 만난 이후 이슬람 백성들에게 한없는 사랑을 표현했으며, 결국은 이슬람 지역에서 순교한 사람이었다. 그는 아랍어에 능통했으며, 기독교와 이슬람 간의 논쟁에 있어서 이성적인 논증을 사용하려 했으며, 복음을 그들에게 선포하려는데 있어서 두려움 없는 모습을 보였다.
두 번째 선교사는 19세기의 사무엘 즈웨머(Samuel Marinus Zwemer, 1867-1952)이다. 즈웨머는 “이슬람을 위한 사도”라는 별명을 갖고 있다. 그는 이슬람 선교를 위한 다양한 경력을 갖고 있는데, 그의 이슬람 선교를 위한 열정은 마치 타의 추종을 불허할 정도이었다. 그의 미션 동기는 오로지 그리스도의 명령에 따른다는 단순함이었으며, 자유주의의 복음을 제외한 선한 행위의 미션을 맹렬하게 비판했다.
세 번째 선교사는 20세기의 케네스 크랙(Kenneth Cragg, 1913-2012)이다. 크랙은 20세기 이슬람 선교의 최고 전문가로 칭함을 받는데 아무런 의심이 없다고 하겠다. 그는 그리스도 중심의 선교사이었다. 그가 사용한 이슬람을 향한 선교 방법론을 보통 “대화식 접근”(Dialogical Approach)이라고 부른다.
분명한 사실은 이슬람 백성 역시 복음전파의 대상이며 우리의 이웃이라는 점이다. 또한 예수 그리스도의 지상명령은 여전히 우리가 따라야만 하는 선교명령이라는 점이다. 현실적으로, 그리고 역사적으로 이슬람 선교는 쉽지 않은 사역임이 사실이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 본 연구에서 언급한세 선교사의 열정과 신학과 방법론은 이 시대의 이슬람 선교에 있어서 매우 중요하고 가치 있는 지침을 제공한다 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is true that the coxistence of Christianity and Islam for the last 1400 years have created numerous bed things and tragedies. Even in such a militant relationship, there have been missionaries who sacrificed themselves to the foundation to save Islamic souls. This study introduces three missionaries who are believed to have made an outstanding contribution in the history of Islamic missions and examines their theology and methodology.
The first missionary was Raymond Lull (1232-1316) of the 13th century. Lull was a missionary, philosopher, poet, novelist, and left over 4,000 books and documents. He was far ahead of his time, expressed his unfailing love for the Islamic people after meeting Jesus Christ, and was eventually martyred in the Islamic region. He was fluent in Arabic, tried to use rational arguments in the debate between Christianity and Islam, and was fearless in proclaiming the gospel to them.
The second missionary was Samuel Marinus Zwemer (1867-1952) of the 19th century. Zwemer is nicknamed “the Apostle for Islam. He has a diverse career for Islamic missions, and his passion for Islamic missions is unrivaled. His mission motive was the simplicity of following Christ's command. He violently criticized the mission of the liberals, who ignored the gospel and emphasized only good works.
The third missionary is Kenneth Cragg (1913-2012) of the 20th century. There is no doubt that Crack is called the supreme expert in 20th-century Islamic mission. He was a Christ-centered missionary. His method of mission towards Islam is commonly called the “Dialogical Approach.
Clearly, the Islamic people are also the subjects of evangelism and our neighbors. Also, the Great Commission of Jesus Christ is still the missional command we must follow. In reality, and historically, Islamic missions are not easy. Nevertheless, the passion, theology and methodology of the three missionaries mentioned in this study provide very important and valuable guidance in doing the Islamic mission of this age.
