Concurrent engineering design methods can be applied to meet the demand for the quality product with lower<br/>
production cost and time. In this paper, the optimal design of the automotive suspension system using concurrent<br/>
engineering design concept is studied. The optimal design process of the automotive suspension system using<br/>
concurrent engineering design concept is composed of a pre-processing design stage, an analysis stage and a postprocessing<br/>
stage. In this paper, a method for kinematic design sensitivity analysis of a McPherson strut suspension<br/>
system which is widely used for a front wheel suspension is proposed and then an optimal design based on the<br/>
sensitivity analysis through this optimal design process is performed.
