디지털 도서관에서의 정보봉사와 사서의 역할론

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Today's information environment involves a variety of media ranging from means of simple communication to highly advanced computer telecommunication.
Since it is an institution that should be sensitive to changes in internal and external information environments, library needs to accept new information technologies and adapt itself to related changes.
Library is now required to change its functions and roles, becoming to be a critical institution of information-oriented society.
Thus the purpose of this study is to provide librarian's role changes necessary in relation to the digital library establishment and information services. For that purpose, the study set the following research objectives.
1. To investigate the concept, characteristics and models of digital library theoretically
2. To examine new concepts and styles of library's information service under the digital environment
3. To propose the roles of librarians keeping pace with changing trends in information services
To accomplish these objectives, this paper reviewed and analyzed relevant literature from local and foreign nations. Results of the study are described as follows:
1. Librarians of digital library have the responsibility of helping library users who use contents of the institution.
2. Librarians must be expert in education who helps library users to find and utilize appropriate information.
3. Librarians should be a counselor and instructor who provides advice about strategies and procedures of search and evaluates the validity of information collected.
4. Librarians must be expert in electronic search, which should be done accurately in a shortest time.
5. Librarians should be an information mediator who guides library users to search systems and further provides advice about the application of searched information.
6. Librarians should be reinforce professional knowledge about main subjects of information.
7. Librarians need to be a cultural planner who seeks to determine what kinds and styles of cultural programs could be provided under the capability of their library.
8. Librarians should play a critical roles in managing property rights within the Internet environment, observing permits for library link sites and controlling sites linked to their library.
