이명박 정부의교육과정 자율화 정책에 대한 비판적 논의 = A critique of the policy discourse of school-based curriculum autonomy in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to critically examine the policy discourse of school-based curriculum autonomy in Korea. It first deals with three questions which are closely related with the concepts of autonomy over curriculum as a background of this study: 1) What are the meaning and status of autonomy in an educational context? 2) What are policy strategies which promote the competence of school-based curriculum autonomy? 3) Should the result of school-based curriculum autonomy be considered to be desirable if the autonomy of autonomy-making is guaranteed? In the main body of the study, a critical examination was conducted on the policy discourse of school-based curriculum autonomy in Korea. The first critical discourse was on the implementation process of the central government`s policy of school-based curriculum autonomy. The second was on the equity issue over the degree of autonomy among different types of schools. The third was on the effectiveness of the central government`s policy of school-based curriculum autonomy. As a conclusion, a suggestion was made that the current paradigm of heteronomous policy of school-based curriculum autonomy should be replaced with one of autonomous policy of school-based curriculum autonomy.
