This study analyzes the success factors of the musical <Frankenstein> by dividing inner and external factors. As a result of the analysis which is based on leading researches of OSMU and cultural discount rates, reinterpreting timeliness of the original work was a critical inner factor. External factors showed that the participation of the public theater removes a large portion of an uncertain authoring environment that the private musical production companies are facing. Stabilized production environments by reduction of uncertainty makes higher possibility of commercial success because they can focus on promotional marketing. Through this case analysis of the musical <Frankenstein> produced by Chungmu art Hall defines that to secure efficiency of producing creative musical, granting the role of the public theater might be a important factor to solve the problem that the current support system has.
