The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the caring atmosphere of school sports clubs on autonomy and sports personality, which is being conducted as an alternative to problems in areas such as physical competence, sociality, and interpersonal relationships due to restrictions on participation in physical activities due to the entrance exam-oriented educational environment. To this end, the SPSS 27.0 program was used to analyze frequency, exploratory factors, reliability, correlation, and simple regression analysis of 240 copies of the data collected from 247 high school student participants in the school sports club using the convenience sampling method among the non-probability sampling methods.
First, it was found that the caring atmosphere perceived by high school sports club high school student participants had a statistically significant effect on autonomy. Second, the caring atmosphere perceived by high school sports club participants was found to have a statistically significant effect on confidence, community consciousness, self-sacrifice, and positive attitude, which are sub-factors of sports personality. Third, it was found that the autonomy of high school student participants in school sports clubs had a statistically significant effect on confidence, self-sacrifice, and positive attitude, which are sub-factors of sports personality. Therefore, school sports club leaders should make various efforts to create a stable and autonomous classroom environment and implement institutional devices to improve the caring atmosphere of sports clubs.
