Authors had recently experienced a girl with type1 distal renal tubular acidosis, who had presented with vomiting and intermittent para- lysis. On admission, her blood chemistry revealed metabolic acidosis, hypocalcemia and hypopho- sphatemia. And also, mild renal insufficiency was disclosed but it returned to normal after hydra- tion. Bicarbonate loading test was done to diffe- rentiate proximal and distal RTA and the result of it suggested distal RTA. The girl was treated with Kcl and NaHCO, with good response.
