미술을 통한 수학교육이 유아의 수학적 지식과 태도에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Math Education through Art on the Young Children's Mathematical Knowledge and Attitude

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 미술을 통한 수학교육이 유아의 수학적 지식과 수학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Khol과 Gainer(1996)의 Math Art를 참고로 프로그램을 개발한 뒤 만 4세 유아에게 7주간 총 12회에 걸쳐 프로그램을 실시하고, 실험집단 유아(23명)와 통제집단 유아(23명)의 사전-사후검사 점수의 변화를 비교·분석하였다. 그 결과 미술을 통한 수학교육 프로그램은 '시간' 영역을 제외한 모든 수학적 지식에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있었으나 수학적 태도에는 유의한 영향을 미치고 있지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates the effect of Math Education through Art program on young children's mathematical knowledge and attitude. The subjects, all 4-years-olds, were divided into two groups. One group, as a experimental group (n=23), was exposed to MEA program for seven and the second served as a control group (n=23). The instruments for pre-test and post-test were the mathematics domain of Lee et. al.(1993)'s School Readiness Test and the portfolio-based assessment for mathematical attitude. The major results are as follows: first, the MEA program was effective for enhancement of most domains of mathematical knowledge of young children with the exception of the 'time concept'; second, the MEA program demonstrated no significant effects of the mathematical attitude of young children. Implications of these results are discussed.
