불암산성의 축조수법과 성격 검토

국문 초록 (Abstract)

불암산성은 관련 문헌자료가 전무한 상태에서 그간 단편적인 지표조사를 바탕으로 산성 의 축조시기에 대해 단편적인 연구가 이루어지면서 축조주체에 대해 삼국시대 신라, 백제, 고구려 등 다양한 견해가 제시되고 있어 불암산성의 성격을 이해하는데 혼란을 주고 있는 실정이다. 본 고에서는 최근까지 조사된 불암산성의 축조수법을 살펴보고 이를 통해 산성의 성격을 검토해보고자 한다. 불암산성의 테뫼식 석축산성으로 축조는 지형의 이점을 최대한 이용하여 편축기법으로 쌓았으며, 방형․장방형의 화강암석재를 치석하여 바른층쌓기로 축조하였다. 일부 구간에서 기단보축이 축조되었으며, 현문식으로 축조된 남문지가 확인되었다. 이런 축조수법은 서울․ 경기 지역에 분포하는 삼국시대 산성에서 다수 확인된다. 특히 불암산성이 위치한 불암산은 양주․포천에서 서울로 진입하는 교통로상에 위치하고 있어 이를 통해 방어체계를 형성하였 음을 알 수 있다. 다만 230m의 내외의 소규모 산성으로, 집수지 등의 성내 수원이 없으며, 해발고도는 낮으나 험지에 축조되어진 점 등을 종합할 때 소규모의 병력이 주변지역을 관측 하고, 상황 발생 시 남과 북의 상황을 전달하는 통신(봉수)의 역할적의 침입시 배후를 공략 할 수 있는 전략적 기지 역할을 수행하였을 것으로 판단된다. 이와 더불어 산성내 정상부 목 곽고와 수혈 내부에서 향로 뚜껑과 훼기가 이루어진 편병 등이 수습되고 있어 군사적인 목 적의 산성으로 축조되었던 것으로 보이며, 이후 산성의 기능에 일부 제의기능이 추가된 것 으로 볼 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As there are few literatures about Bulam-Mountain Fortress, only fragmentary research has been done until now about the time of its foundation based on fragmentary investigation on the indexes. Besides, regarding who built the mountain fortress, they have come up with different opinions saying it was Silla, Baekje, or Goguryeo in the Three Kingdoms period, which makes it even harder to understand the characteristics of Bulamsanseong. Accordingly, this study is aimed to examine the methods of building Bulamsanseong that have been studied up to now and consider its characteristics based on that. Bulamsanseong is a Temoe-type stony fortress, and it was built with the contracted method by taking geographical advantages as much as possible, and also, range work was done by accumulating either square or rectangular granite stones. In some sections, Gidanbochuk was built, and Nammungi constructed in Hyeonmun style was also observed. This method of construction is often found in the fortresses of the Three Kingdoms period distributed in Seoul or Gyeonggi. Particularly with the fact that Mt. Bulam where Bulamsanseong is located is positioned on the traffic routes entering Seoul from Yangju or Pocheon, we can see that it formed the defensive system. Yet, considering the fact that it is a small fortress about 230 meters long, there is no water source inside the fortress such as a collecting basin, and it is on the rough ground despite the low altitude above sea level in general, we can assume that small troops observed the surrounding areas in it, they played roles as Bongsu(communicators) to send messages about situations in North and South when any event took place, and it had roles as a strategic base to attack the enemy from the back. Moreover, inside Suhyeol or Mokgwakgo at the top of the fortress, the lids of incense burners or broken flat bottles were collected, which implies that even if it was built as a fortress for military purpose at first, some ritual functions were added to the original functions of it afterwards.
