鶴皐 金履萬의 「山史」 硏究 = A Study on 「Sansa」of Kim Yiman, Hakgo

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 조선후기의 대표적인 遊記散文인 鶴皐 金履萬의 「山史」가 이루어진 배경과 그 의미를 살피기 위한 것이다. 김이만은 山水癖이 있어 백두산에서 호남의 월출산까지 전국 각지의 명승을 두루 다녔는데, 「山史」는 그의 산수유람 기록이다. 「山史」의 自序에도 있는 것처럼, 김이만은 『名山記』를 읽고 느낀 바 있어 수십 년 동안의 유람을 회상하면서 「山史」를 집필하였다.
「山史」를 각 條文 속의 字句와 그의 官歷를 비교 분석한 결과, 「山史」 56개조는 집필자인 김이만이 平安都事와 咸鏡都事 및 務安縣監 재임시 임지 주변의 명승을 다녀온 것이 대부분이었고, 그 외에는 대체로 제천에 귀향해 있으면서 주변 명승을 유람한 것을 기록한 것임을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구에서는 「山史」의 집필 배경과 서술방식, 그리고 그 내용을 살피는 과정을 통해 「山史」가 조선후기 문인들의 臥遊의 주된 대상이 되었던 袁宏道의 산수유기의 영향 하에 이루어졌음을 밝혀낼 수 있었다. 이렇듯이 17세기 초에 이루어진 「山史」가 晩明 公安派의 직접적인 영향 하에 이루어졌다는 것은 문학사적으로 매우 의미 있는 사실이다.
김이만이 스스로 밝혔듯이, 「山史」는 『天下名山記』등을 통한 와유를 기초로 해서 스스로 명승을 찾아가는 眞遊를 실행하고, 이를 기록으로 남겨 다시 臥遊와 養生의 방편으로 삼은 사례였다. 「山史」에는 김이만이 유람에 참고하였을 만한 시문과 산수유람에 동행했던 사람들이 밝혀져 있어, 이들의 상호연관성을 통해 조선후기 지식인사회의 흐름을 짚어볼 수 있었던 것도 본 연구가 갖는 의의 가운데 하나이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is on the background and meaning of 「Sansa」, that is the History of Mountains of Kim Yiman, Hakgo, which was a typical prose of travel sketch in the late Chosun Dynasty. Kim Yiman, who had a disposition of roving around mountains and waters, travelled from Mt. Baekdu to Mt. Wolchul, the Honam district, visiting celebrated places of natural beauty. 「Sansa」 was his record of travelling around mountains and waters. As shown in the prologue, Kim Yiman wrote 「Sansa」 under the inspiration of 『Myungsangi』, that is, A Record of Noted Mountains, looking back over his decades' journey.
From a comparative analysis on its phrases of each heading and his official history, fifty-six headings were mostly related to travelling scenic attractions around his post during his service as Pyeongan-Dosa, Hamkyeong-Dosa and Mooan- Hyeongam, and most of other headings were written about picturesque sites around his hometown, Jecheon after his returning home.
In the study of its background, writing style and contents, 「Sansa」 was found to be under the influence of Won Goyngdo's 'Sansooyugi', that is, A Record of Travelling around Mountains and Waters, which was in the main interest of wayoo, that is, literary mens' exploring picture books of scenic attractions in the late Chosun Dynasty. In the history of literature, it wa a significant fact that 「Sansa」, which was written in the 17th century, was directly influenced by Gongan Sect in the late Ming Dynasty.
As Kim Yiman stated, 「Sansa」 was a literary product of visiting noted places in person on the basis of exploring picture books such as 『Chunhamyungsangi』, that is, A Journey Record of Highly Noted Mountains, and it came to serve as an object of wayoo and a means of dignified life, in return. This study is also meaningful in tracing the literary society of the late Chosun Dynasty through the mutual relationship between his supposed references to literary works and travelling companions mentioned in 「Sansa」.
