In order to find proper synthesis algorithm for slider-rocker 4-bar linkages with variable offsets, the linkage is analysed to obtain position, velocity, and acceleration analysis formula. Then, kinematic analysis is applied to the linkages due to the analytical synthesis techniques by[3] and [4] and velocity and acceleration behavior of the linkage is observed. The analysis shows that the synthesis algorithm with equal rocker's angular displacement between the first and second quadrant yields smaller maximum velocity and acceleration. In addition, [4] finds that the synthesis algorithm is simple to apply. In conclusion, the slider-rocker 4-bar linkages with variable offsets can be optimally synthesized by the synthesis algorithm by which rocker's angular displacement is divided equally between the first and second quadrant, which algorithm was proposed in [3].
