The ultra-leftists of Guangdong indicates the radical rebels who desperately oppose the central party leadership, the armed forces, and the revolutionary committee. They overtly reject instructions of the central party leadership, try to disunite the military to root out a small number of capitalist roaders within the military, deny the revolutionary committee and insist a thorough revolution in accordance with “the privileged hierarchial theory.” Modelling the Paris Commune, they rely on Mao Zedong who encouraged the power seizure against the established system, and the instructions and the systematic network of the clique of the Cultural Revolution. However, the ultra-leftists are not the mere followers of the clique of the Cultural Revolution. They sheds light on the radical Cultural Revolution through the complete power seizure, insisting on class conflicts within the military which received Moa’s sanction, going on the armed struggle inside of public movement, and rejecting the instructions of the revolutionary committee. These ultra-leftists wouldn’t take any motion except propaganda under the process of the massive anti ultra-leftist movement accordingly. It suggests that the charisma and authority of the clique of the Cultural Revolution based on Mao Zedong are still in effect. Their challenge against the communist party and Mao Zedong becomes harder. But there have already been disappointment and skepticism against the sanctity of the Cultural Revolution and Mao Zedong among people. Therefore, the phenomenon of “the increase of the old rebels and new peripatetism,” which arose under the process of the anti ultraleftists movement, is one of the consequences.
