마키아벨리의 두 얼굴의 분쟁 = “비이성적 소란의 정치”와 이성적 소란의 정치

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 분쟁에 대한 마키아벨리의 이해에 있어 자유에 대한 아이디어와 앎, 지식등과 같은 이성적 요인의 중요성을 강조하고, 이러한 이성적 요인과 분쟁과의 관계를 살펴본다. 분쟁의 이성적 요인을 강조하는 것은 분쟁을 함성, 울부짖음, 총소리와 같은 충동적이고, 비이성적인 소리들로 가득한 소란의 정치로 바라보는 것에서 나아가, 언쟁이 오가는 이성적 논의의 소란의 정치로 바라볼 것을 제안한다. 궁극적으로 이 글은 기존의 비지배 욕망에 기반한 “비이성적 소란의 정치”로부터 말과 대화, 토론이 야기하는 이성적 소란의 정치로 초대함으로써, 마키아벨리 분쟁 이해의 이성적 면모를 드러내고자 한다. 더불어, “비이성적 소란의 정치”의 주체이자, 이성적 소란의 정치의 주체이기도 한 민중의 모습을 제시함으로써, 고대를 넘어섰지만, 근대에는 이르지 못한, 마키아벨리 정치사상의 한계를 살펴보고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper explores the importance of rational factors such as ideas, knowledge about political freedom in Machiavelli’s understanding of discord, and examines the relationship between those rational factors and discord. Emphasizing the rational factors of discord, I suggest that the discord can be understood as the rational noiseness of politics throughout words, dialogue, and discussion beyond the “Irrational Noiseness of Politics” which is of full of irrational sounds, such as shouting, crying, and gunfire. Ultimately, this paper aims to reveal the rational aspect of Machiavelli’s understanding of discord, presenting the rational noiseness of politics. In addition, I examine the limitations of Machiavelli’s political thought which has gone beyond ancient political philosophy but has not reached modern political philosophy, by presenting the figures of the people who are the subjects of “Irrational Noiseness of Politics” and also the subjects of the rational noiseness of politics.
