In pursuing the above, to examine characteristic of RLR crashes by gender, this study used the Koroad-TAAS database for 2,246 RLR/ 1,300 Non-RLR crashes during 2007~2011 in Cheongju, and the crash propensity related to traffic environments, driver characteristics, and vehicle factors. The Binary Logistic Regression(BLR) technique were used to perform this analysis. The main results are showed that 79.3% of RLR crashes were occurred by male driver, in the nighttime and in going straight. and alcohol use, accident pattern, crash type, used of the vehicle, maneuver of vehicle before crash, crash location, grade, weather, daytime and nighttime are significant factors affecting RLR crashes by gender.
